Summary of the role and person we are looking for:

We are looking for a Marketing Director to grow awareness of the Cynozure brand globally and generate demand from high potential organisations. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is an essential part of the Cynozure leadership team and will contribute to growing the business internationally.

As Marketing Director, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the international marketing and communication strategy, plan, and budget with demonstrable upside to the business. You will build, guide, and manage a world class marketing team across brand development, content, creative, awareness building, demand generation, events, and public relations. You will also educate, inspire, and coach the wider business and collaborate on strategies to engage our community, customers, and stakeholders.

Therefore, the ideal candidate is an ambitious, charismatic, and collaborative marketing leader with B2B and international experience. You will care deeply about people and business outcomes. You will thrive on teamwork and supporting others to be successful, able to work with ambiguity, have a data guided approach, love building communities and have experience across the full digital and physical marketing mix.

The responsibilities you would have:

  • Develop and own the long-term international marketing and communication strategy
  • Define and communicate short-term targets and campaign plans aligned with business goals
  • Demonstrate measurable return from marketing investment by tracking, managing, and communicating KPIs
  • Build, coach, manage and run a team of marketers ensuring clarity of roles, career progression and objectives
  • Proactive support, collaboration and coaching to the business to shape marketing activities that support their goals
  • Create brand equity by developing, delivering, and iterating company brand positioning
  • Own CEO personal brand development as a mechanism to generate awareness
  • Support the team in developing their personal brand to demonstrate thought leadership and excellence
  • Major contributor to our ‘Business as a force for good’ / responsible business strategy (and B Corp certification)
  • Ensure we have a strong proposition for our target market and generate demand in collaboration with business development, community, and consulting.
  • Develop high-performing insights and thought leadership relevant to our target audience and through relevant channel
  • Grow, engage, and retain global community member base

The type of person we’d love to meet:

  • You will lead with empathy, vision, and collaboration
  • You have excellent relationship-building skills to engage and influence peers and stakeholders in the delivery of marketing goals and objectives
  • You are an organised, methodical project manager who can plan, track, and communicate projects appropriately
  • You are agile in the way you think and approach problems, adapting your ways to deliver value and outcomes

Experience we’d like you to have:

  • You should be able to demonstrate experience with or have a strong aptitude for the responsibilities of the role
  • You will have experience working with customer acquisition, community, and operational delivery teams to build effective campaigns
  • You will bring a deep understanding and experience of developing and implementing successful integrated B2B marketing campaigns across the marketing mix
  • Ideally this will include experience working in professional services and/or data and/or technology industry
  • You will have experience working with marketing automation and CRM tools (particularly Hubspot)
  • You will have experience marketing internationally with a preference for experience in the UK and the US
  • You have a thirst for innovation and new approaches for engaging customers
  • You use data to plan and make decisions

Desirable experience but can be developed in the role:

  • We’d love for you to be engaged in the marketing community, contributing to the craft, and building your own reputation in the industry.
  • Experience of public speaking and of speaking credibly on the subject matter
  • Experience in entrepreneurial environments, scale ups and working as part of a dynamic and collaborative team.
