International Women’s Day 2023

At Cynozure, we are committed to supporting diversity and equity as part of our overall strategy to be a business as a force for good, and International Women’s Day provides an opportunity to continue to raise awareness and work together to drive meaningful change. This year we are doing that through ‘Celebrate. Engage. Act.’ — celebrating some fantastic women in data, engaging in conversation regarding issues impacting equity, and committing to action to improve and drive change.

Embracing equity needs to be engrained in our DNA. We can all do a little something in our sphere of influence, and all those little things together can help to do something truly amazing and make a real difference.

Next week, we will be sharing a few of our podcasts from some of the incredible women in data that we have had on our show over the past couple years. There are many others, which you can find at HubandSpoken.com.

In addition, we will be releasing a special podcast featuring our U.S. Managing Director, Jennifer Agnes, Sadiqah Musa, the founder of Black in Data, and Sathya Bala, the founder of TrueChange and My Skin My Story, who will be engaging in discussion on equity, community and mentorship. Be sure to check it out when it is released next Wednesday.

We are taking more action at Cynozure to help do our part too. I am fortunate to be part of a company that already embraces equity, celebrates diversity and offers flexible working practices, but in the next year, we will do more by supporting some key organisations in our industry through our IMPACT initiative.

Last week, at our company away day, we also filled out personal ‘Celebrate. Engage. Act.’ Cards to celebrate someone doing great work to embrace equity, engage in conversation regarding ways to drive change, and/or personally commit to act in order to improve equity in our industry.

If you are looking for ways to get involved, there are many fantastic organisations and people in our industry that offer opportunities to get involved in initiatives around diversity in data and analytics.

Progress has been made, but we have much more we can do.
